How a commission works
Measure and sketch
Read the client's bust, waist and hips off the dress form, then combine a bodice, skirt and sleeves that match the brief.
Cut and sew
Buy fabric by the metre, lay the pattern on the grain or the bias, and guide every seam under the needle.
Finish and deliver
Add buttons, bows, lace and appliqué, hand the gown over, and earn coins, reputation and new unlocks.

Each commission walks through the real steps of making a garment. Nothing is skipped and nothing is automatic: the quality of the dress is the quality of your work.
- Measure bust, waist and hips with a tape measure that reads the client's actual body.
- Combine bodices, skirts and sleeves in the sketchbook to hit the style the client asked for.
- Buy fabric by the metre and place pattern pieces on the grain, or on the bias for extra drape.
- Guide the fabric under the needle of a vintage sewing machine and keep the seam straight.
- Decorate with buttons, bows, lace trim and appliqué, then deliver for coins and reputation.
